ABOUT THE ARTIST, DON DRABIK

Don Drabik is a graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago and studied watercolor under Irving Shapiro, AWS. He became a professional illustrator and studio owner for 30 years in Chicago. As computers took over most of the commercial art business, Don began to illustrate on the computer but continued to keep his hand in painting. His favorite subjects have always been buildings, landscapes, and automobiles in their forgotten settings. Leelanau County, MI (now home) offers an ample supply of all these, and more, for continued opportunities to paint. And they are disappearing fast.
